Mike grew up in the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota area working on the family farm. As an adult Mike spent more time farming and as the herd manager for a dairy, but most of his professional career has been as a truck driver - hauling everything from milk to crude oil, and everything in between.

After 12 years in the Bakken oilfield of western North Dakota, Mike decided to make his hobby a career. Mike enrolled in the Dan Rinehart taxidermy school in Wisconsin to hone his skills and soon after moved his family to Laporte, Minnesota.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys taking his kids hunting and fishing, teaching them the skills and values he grew up to love and appreciate.
